There have been strange things happening in Starfish Class. Last week the fox played a trick on us and hid our gingerbread men from Mother Goose. We had to go and find them.
Then, we found broken gingerbread men in our classroom. We thought the fox might be back so we made a traps and posters.
This afternoon we got a letter. It was from Mrs Fox saying sorry for taking our gingerbread men and she gave us some ingredients to make our own.

What a great day we had on our trip to Staunton Country Park.
Gemma told us a story about how she had broken the rainbow and could we help her to find all the colours that had been scattered around the walled garden!
can you see the bee?
After we had found all the colours we then went into the trees where Gemma gave us some bright green playdough. We pressed the playdough onto trees, bricks, benches, anything we could find to make a ‘pattern’, we then asked our friends what they thought it was……
Next we went back to the Gothic Library where we had a drink of water and a snack before we carried on with our treasure hunt. We had to find something smaller than our thumb nail, some fleece, a feather with more than one colour, 3 pieces of straw all different lengths, animal feed and something that used to live on a tree and then we played animal bingo, that was fun because we went to look at all the animals.
We had to find pigs, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, a horse, a donkey and Shetland ponies.
What a busy morning we had had, we all ate our picnic for lunch and then we went to look at all the animals around the farm and we were allowed to feed them!
Finally after such a fun packed and tiring day we made our way back to school’
We received a mysterious box in the Starfish Class.. We all had a guess what could be inside:
“A blind bag- you get toys in them like my little princess- because we have been good!” Maddie
“Halo factory by the postman because the school has been good” Archie
“maybe a snails house because we have snails” Chloe
“caterpillars because earlier I heard you say we were getting some” Katie
There were many more guesses too. Were any of them correct…………………
They were caterpillars. We each had a little pot and put a little bit of special caterpillar food in the bottom, we carefully put one caterpillar into our pot and then covered with blue paper and a lid with a small hole in so that the caterpillars could breathe.
Now we have to wait for them to grow!
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the grown ups for reading and completing the reading records for their children. we managed to get all 30 children as Star Readers or Super Star Readers!. Keep going.
